About Quality Assurance

In light of the scientific and technological progress witnessed by the world, which includes nine parts of life, first and last, its efforts, that ninety of us to occupy advanced positions in the comprehensive business environment, and find only mastery in work evidence of the pursuit and continuous modernization as a way to achieve its strategic goals and objectives.

And in the belief of the Institute's management in the importance of developing programs and courses except academic and administrative in all educational and administrative fields, the Institute has put everything related to the impact and humanity to develop performance and administration in order to ensure the provision of an internal system for follow-up and internal control of the work and effectiveness required when applying the quality system to obtain accreditation.

Therefore, a quality assurance unit was established by virtue of the decision of Prof. Dr./Dean of the Institute No. (85) dated 4/2/2013 - and it is directly affiliated with the Dean of the Institute - according to the nature and funding of the institution, providing human skills in the field of assurance through specialized training and practice (such as the self-assessment course to analyze the strategic planning of specializations, educational reports, curricula, etc.), in addition to establishing a structure and forming a board of directors, taking into account the audit periodically every year. It is fully keen on establishing an internal system as well as quality at the institute according to the accountability systems determined by the quality assurance of education and accreditation source.

The Quality Assurance Unit at the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology in New Minya seeks for the institute to become a pioneer in applying quality standards in all areas of work at the institute, and to continue to obtain academic accreditation.

Mission of the Quality Assurance Unit

The Quality Assurance Unit at the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology in New Minya is committed to following up and developing the quality of performance in all educational, research and community activities of the institute to achieve the highest levels of quality within the framework of the institute's policy for continuous development and spreading the culture of quality.

Objectives of the Quality Assurance Unit

1) Enhancing the fulfillment of quality standards in all areas of work at the institute to maintain the continuity of academic accreditation.

2) Continuous awareness of the culture and practices of quality assurance for all beneficiaries of the institute.

3) Continuous development of quality assurance practices and systems at the institute.

4) Preparing cadres for the quality system at the institute.

5) Providing technical support to educational programs and various departments at the institute to perform their duties with the highest levels of quality.

6) Helping to link the institute to civil society.

7) Developing evaluation, follow-up and inspection systems for all activities of the institute.

Definition of Quality and Accreditation Terms


The concept of quality assurance and accreditation in education:

The initiative to implement quality assurance and accreditation policies in Egypt can be viewed as an unprecedented qualitative shift in the process of developing education in its various types and institutions according to international standard criteria and in a manner that preserves the identity of the nation to meet the expectations of beneficiaries and society, as education is the pillar of development and progress.


Quality assurance in education:

Quality assurance in education means the process of verifying that the academic standards consistent with the mission of the educational institution have been identified, defined and achieved in a manner that is consistent with the corresponding standards, whether at the national or regional level, and that the level of quality of learning opportunities, scientific research, community participation and environmental development is considered appropriate or exceeds the expectations of all types of end beneficiaries of the services provided by the educational institution.


Accreditation:

Accreditation is the systematic process that aims to enable educational institutions to obtain a distinguished status and a locally and internationally recognized identity that clearly reflects their success in implementing effective strategies, policies and procedures to improve the quality of their operations, activities and outputs in a manner that meets or exceeds the expectations of the end beneficiaries and achieves high levels of their satisfaction. Accreditation for educational institutions in Egypt can be defined as follows:

"The recognition granted by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education to the educational institution if it is able to prove that it has the institutional capacity, achieves educational effectiveness according to the standards approved and announced by the Authority, and has advanced systems that ensure continuous improvement and enhancement of quality"
